Want to know how to get the most out of Music Duo?

Participate with your child! Even if you might not have a music background, your enthusiasm and encouragement will help your child gain confidence to participate in the fullest. Just like none of us can get fit by watching sports on TV, watching someone else sing won’t help us become a better singer. So sing away in your best shower voice! And positive energy will go a long way too!

What's the difference between Parent and Educator?

The parent’s and the educator’s products offer the same curriculum. The difference is the parent version is a single user system, whereas the educator version is designed for schools and school districts where there are multiple users. Both get identical objectives, material lists, and suggested assessments.

What age can my child start Music Duo?

Any child starting Kindergarten through 4th grade can start Music Duo, depending on their previous music experience.

How do I know what level to start my child?

There is a placement wizard that will help you decide which level is best for your child. If your child seems to be struggling though, contact us and we will get him or her into a more appropriate level.

Can a child with special needs still be successful with Music Duo?

This curriculum was used in a classroom with many special needs children with very successful results. Every child is unique and a parent knows best if his or her child is benefitting or not. We will work with you to find the best level possible to make sure your child is successful!

What if I don't have any musical experience? Can my child still be successful?

Of course! Music Duo brings a qualified music teacher right into your educational setting and your job is to encourage participation by being an example yourself. Be careful! You might end up learning quite a bit about music yourself!

Do I have to buy an instrument to participate in the program?

No, it is not required. Body percussion and/or singing can be substituted for those lessons that have percussion instruments. Homemade instruments can be substituted as well (pencils for rhythm sticks, for example.) Virtual instruments can also be used in place of barred instruments.

How do we get the most out of Music Duo?

Students who regularly complete the lessons and fully participate will benefit the most.  If a student just watches the video and doesn’t sing or do the activities, that’s like watching sports on TV and wondering why he or she isn’t getting fit. Teachers/parents who give encouragement to children for doing their best will really make their investment go a long way.
